My search for a Yoga teacher in New York.

After being back in New York for a month I am already feeling the stress of the city that never sleeps. As I plan to quickly regain my hold on healthy eating and exercise as I did in Miami,   I am in search of the best yoga NYC has to offer.
(yours truly practicing)

I am looking for a yoga instructor, but here's the hard part. When I lived in South beach Miami and was going through some very big emotional changes, I met a man named Jaya Dev. Jaya was not just an instructor. He was a personal mentor with a love for his practice and spirituality.

Practicing Bhakti yoga with Jaya helped me overcome some great challenges, and when you look at him practice its simply beautiful and inspirational.

Sometimes I would meet him at 5:30 am and we'd practice. Walking home afterwards as the sun came alive was a magical experience!!

Another wonderful thing about practicing with Jaya (apart from the live music and chanting) is his food. The man cooks a fabulous vegetarian meal after each class. After we were all done with practice, we would gather together like a family and enjoy this food that was obviously prepared with love.

So the hard part is finding a place to practice that's similar in NYC that can give me the guidance that I need, in a humble environment that's full of love. Does this exist NYC?

To reach Jaya in South beach Miami call him at 917 294 4803 and he will let you know where you can find him.

Namaste.

Just experienced a lesson with Jaya Dev for the first time this morning and it was amazing. Though this was my first time in Miami Beach, FL, I will be back again, so that I can enjoy yet another lesson and perhaps a homecooked meal, with Jaya in his Bhakt house :)
